We’re proud to present the Oceania Qualifier for the Bachata Social World Cup 2026, happening right here at Level Up! This is your chance to showcase your social dancing skills, connect with the community, and earn a spot on the world stage. The top 3 Leaders and 3 Followers from this qualifier will earn direct access to the World Cup Finals in Geneva, Switzerland in October 2026! 📝 How to Register: To enter, you’ll need to provide a video link of you social dancing. Our team will review all submissions and select the dancers who qualify to compete in the Oceania Qualifier. 💡 Didn’t make it through the video selection? No worries — you can still participate in the Level Up Social Cup. By placing in the top 3 in this competition, you’ll earn a spot to compete in the Oceania Qualifier. Registration Opens: 🗓 August 1st at 10:00 PM (Brisbane Time) Capacity Limit: 27 Leaders 27 Followers (Spots are limited and may fill quickly) + The Winners from the Level Up Social Cup (3 top leaders and 3 top followers) Competition Structure Preliminary Round 2 heats of 15 couples 15 couples progress Semi Final 1 heat of 15 couples 6 couples progress Finals 6 finalist couples dance with the judges Advancement to Geneva Social World Cup : Top 3 Leads Top 3 Followers --- Competition Format Division: Pro Level Style: Jack & Jill – social dance with randomly assigned partners Prohibited Elements: No lifts No acrobatics No choreography – dancing must be lead and follow, social floor-appropriate --- Judging Criteria Judges will be assessing the following: ● Connection (with your partner and the music) ● Technique (clarity, control, balance, and execution) ● Musicality (interpretation, timing, rhythm, and phrasing) ● Personality (expression, energy, and presence) ● Social Dancing Quality (lead/follow ability, adaptability, floorcraft) --- Participation Requirements Dorsal Numbers: Must be visibly worn at all times throughout the competition Dress Code: Stylish and expressive Comfortable and suitable for social dancing Avoid costumes; prioritize authenticity and practicality --- Code of Conduct All participants must uphold a respectful and inclusive environment. The following will not be tolerated: Harassment Discrimination Intimidation of any kind Support and celebrate fellow dancers – create a positive space both on and off the floor.
